Hi everyone

Hey, I just wanted to tell everyone that I just
recieved my first month of med from the derm. I am excited
about it and hope that it works for me. Erythromycin (
I guess that is how you spell it) she gave me a
month of meds and 4 refills. Boy am I excited about it.
Maybe now I can get some relief from all of the cysts
on my face. Today I had the biggest zit ever. Man I
thought I was going to die. I went out with my husband
and he says that it doesn’t bother him, I can’t help
but to be bothered because of my looks. I don’t know
what to do. I am also going to try pro active.

I am concerned about taking the med because I have
to take it on an empty stomach. I don’t know if that
is going to work for me considering I am very
sensitive to meds. It also says that it can cause vomiting,

I think the correct dosage for zinc supplements is something like 30mg a day,
but to be sure, look it up on www.mothernature.com, they have lots of articles
on that type of stuff.

acne and sunscreen

Sunday, February 23rd, 2003

This is something I know about!! Almost all acne
products make you more susceptible to sunburn, so this
summer, being on all that stuff was very painful sunburn
wise. My doctor said always ALWAYS use a gel
sunscreen– I have Shade by Coppertone and Bio-Sun. Apply
more often (all the time) when you are out in the sun.
And for your face? I think that the sunscreen should
always be the closest layer to the face… but I’ll
check it out. I personnaly didn’t use the topical
products (Cleocin, Klaron, Differin) in the summer because
I was burning enough from the antibiotics alone.

This is a really stupid question you may think,
but I am having such a hard time with it. But here it
is anyway. I am not pleased with this Accutane. I’ve
been off of it for a few days, and I am still breaking
out. Like, the breakouts that my doctor gave me the
Accutane for. Maybe we are miscommunicating, but I was
getting the message from him that after the drug, like,
exactly one day after even, my face would be perfect, no
spots, no redness, NO BREAKOUTS. This was not PMS, it
was not stress, it just happened. What do I tell him?
There’s nothing stronger he can give me, yet the problem
still exists. I think I am going to tell him, but I
don’t know how to approach it without sounding bitchy.
But on the other hand, you Accutane users know that
you don’t suffer through this medication to find

worst break out since puberty!!!!!!!

ok, i have been posting here for a while about
how
i have mild acne and have had excellent
results on tetracycline. the medicine worked great intil
i
took it on a full stomach.. an acident and
BIG NO NO. it must be taking on an empty stomach.
anyways a few days later i had the WORST breakout.
everydaya new zit. for a few days straight.i nearly
quit
my job, tried to hide the "bad side" of my face from
my wife, and had no self esteem. i called in "sick"
from work. i was that devestated. now the hell is
over, but a few red marks remain. i learned a whole lot
during this tramatic experience. i need to be happy
..for the acne i don’t have. usualy my face is fairly
clear. my heart goes out to everyone with acne because
its a tough thing to deal with.
bryan

your attitude towards acne is great. we all feel
bad about acne on the inside but it’s great you are
so positive on the outside. the "pro-active"
informercal is very convincing. i nearly ordered
it after
only seeing like 10 minutes. the segment
where the
lady is in the hospital with her newborn baby and her
face was covered with acne was very touching (i’m a
sensitive man of the milenium). after using pro-active her
face was CLEAR.she went from about 25 zits to zero. i
don’t think it would work for me because it’s main
indredient is benzoil peroxide…which i’ve used for 8
years.
bryan

oxy pads never worked for me they just dried my
face out a lot. anything with alcohol i aviod for the
same reason. i wouldn’t waste my money on those
things. spend your money on products that are FDA aproved
to work on acne i.e benzoil peroxide.
bryan

Thoughts & Ideas

I was wondering if you had tried Accutane, but I
am guessing you didn’t, because you have been
pregnant. If you don’t plan on getting pregnant for awhile,
maybe the Accutane would help, but its super strong. I
have heard that Pro-Activ works great, and I have been
on the Erithromyicin too. When I was on the
Accutane, my doc felt that after 5 weeks my skin still
wasn’t adjusted to the Accutane so he gave my the
erithromyicin. It helped, and when I was breaking out and had a
sinus infection at the same time, a couple weeks ago,
my regular doctor gave me E-myicin, and it helped. I
hope things work out for you, if you have any
questions, please ask!!

Take Care,
Karyn

Acne Solution!

Thursday, February 20th, 2003

So this stuff really works? I am so happy that
you have wonderful results. I have been thinking
about purchasing it and am not sure if it is going to
work for me. I have been using benzoyl for years and
it just doesn’t do anything for me. And the bad
thing about benz is that in order to experience long
term results you need to use it and keep using it.
Because if you stop your zits can come back and some may
come back worse than ever. So it is a long time
forever type of thing. I wish you had some before and
after pics. How bad was your acne?
