Ok, I’m a dork for replying to my own message.
HA! Anyway, I just spent -what, a half-hour (?)
reading posts and my-o-MY y’all are informative! Just
about every question I can think of has been answered.
LOL, thanks! Anyway, I do have a few comments to make,
so bear with me (it’s just one’a those days)
k?<br><br>As I mentioned in my earlier post, I’ve had cystic
acne for 10 years. Oh MAN is that a pain. Literally.
They hurt like the dickens and are SO hard to get rid
of. I’ve been through it all: Tetracyclin,
Minocyclin, Retin-A, Differen, Ortho-Tricyclin, Cleocin-T
Gel…you name it. The ONLY (now mind you, this is just MY
experience) thing that ever worked was Accutane. Granted, I
was only on it for 4 months –but I did notice a HUGE
difference. Yeah, the side effects can get annoying (ugh,
SEVERELY dry lips are the WORST) but it’s SO worth it. Too
bad I had to lose my insurance so I can’t use it
anymore, but the stuff works, and lasts (so far). My skin
used to be really oily and during the process, it
changed to ‘normal’ (<–is there really such a thing?)
and it’s remained that way in the 2 months I’ve been
off. I have scars like you wouldn’t believe (makeup
really DOES do wonders) but haven’t broken out that
much. BUT -I’m worried about preventive measures until
I can afford to get back on Accutane. I was
thinking about Proactive; well see.<br><br>OMG, I’m so
rambling now! Sorry! Anyway, so that’s my whole
experience. I highly recommend you talk to your Dr. about
Accutane if you’re considering it as an option. He/She
usually won’t prescribe it unless you have SEVERE cyctic
acne like I did (and only when nothing else works) but
it’s worth a consult.<br><br>Ok, shutting up –I’m
really glad to be here and am looking forward to more
ideas/stories, etc…keep your chin up y’all. <br><br>ACNE does
not make you who you are, your ATTITUDE does.
