Does The Pill Help?

Actually, I am on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for the
specific treatment of acne. For those who are wondering,
my dermatologist *would not* write me a prescription
for it, I had to see a gynecologist, and have an
exam, but the gynecologist gave me the Ortho no
questions asked.
The reason my derm thought I should
try Ortho is that I’ve tried everything from Differin
gel to Accutane, and I still break out. Does it work?
It seemed to help a little. The way you take it is 3
sets of horomone pills (21 total: 7 white, 7 light
blue, and 7 blue. They are what works, and then there
are 7 green pills, which do nothing to your body,
they just reminds you to take your pills every night.
I broke out when I took the green pills, because
there is nothing in them that works with the horomones.

I’d taken one pack, and then saw my derm. He said to
come see him in 2 months, so I finished the pack I was
currently taking, and I decided not to take it this month,
so I can compare the difference.
The difference
for me is not like night and day, but it is
noticable. I have moderate acne, and it’s very persistant. I
would really like to take the Accutane again. I know
some people think I am crazy and stupid, but I’d
rather take that for 5 months than birth control when I
don’t need it. My derm thought that before he put me
back on Accutane, we should try this, because birth
control wreaks a lot less havoc on your body than
Accutane does. Also, the side effects are not too bad–
the only one I was warned about was taking the pills
at night because you might get a little sick to your
stomach while your body is adjusting to the pills. And
girls, my period is like, 2,3 days long– that’s it!
But this is very long, but hopefully very
thorough!! If you have any more questions, please feel free
to ask.

Take Care,
Karyn
