Makeup
I’ve had acne for about 8 years now, I just turn
20. and since I was 13, I have been wearing
foundation. I first started to wear making because I liked
the way I looked with it(I wanted to be grown), but
as the years went on, I wore makeup to cover my oh
so many dark spots. Do ya think that wearing
foundation is the cause for me having acne so long. I mean I
wont leave the house without it. I would rather die
then go anywhere without my makeup.

If you’ve got acne you should be careful about which mineral makeups
you use. A lot of them have bismuth and/or bismuth oxychloride. I
just looked at mineral secrets website and its one of their
ingredients. I have acne, and I tried a lot of different mineral
makeups before I figured out it was the bismuth that was making me
break out.
I finally found Canary Cosmetics, www.canarycosmetics.com, which
doesn’t use bismuth. My skin is much better since I started using it.
And, canary’s a lot cheaper than other mineral makeups out there.
HOpe this helps!

Hi Rachel …
This is what I found about Mineral Secrets …
<The minerals are pure Zinc & Titanium Dioxide. The products are free of
talc, mica, fragrance, wax, oils & perfumes as well as chemicals. You will not
&
cannot be sensitive or allergic to Mineral Secrets!!!! What a relief! Our
mineral make-up is the only one on the market that does not contain the mica
that is so irritating to highly sensitive skin types. Mica is also "shiny"
looking. So we left it out! >
I do know that other mineral cosmetics on the market do contain bismuth
and/or bismuth oxychloride, but Canary Cosmetics contains mica, also … if I’m
missing where to find accurate information on Mineral Secrets, please let me
know.

Hi Katie,
I’m sensitive to A LOT of things, and the mica in canary cosmetics
has never been a problem for me. There’s a number of forums over on
Delphi Groups that discuss mineral makeup, and I don’t remember
anybody having problems with mica, but a lot of people have problems
with bismuth. Like anything, your mileage may vary!

Thanks again for the tip and info, Rachel … I may check out the canary
prices again. I don’t know if either or both would irritate me, but hearing
from
those who do have the experience is why we all come here. I’m so grateful for
this group of helpful and caring folks.
