Makeup

I don’t think make up is the *cause* for acne,
but it certainly can aggravate it. This is what my
derm says. "Your acne will get better sooner if you
don’t wear makeup. However, I’m not going to say you
CANNOT wear makeup, because most people will lie and
wear it anyways. Since you’re going to wear it, cut
back and use 30% less than you already are." So, I cut
out powder totally. He recommended Clinique Superfit
base, but I like Aveda Base better, so I use that.
Maybe try a tinted moisturizer (I use Cover Girl in the
summer.). I would say wear your make up, just less of it if
you think its aggravating your acne.

Take
care,
Karyn

P.S. Acne is acne. Acne with a
lot of make up covering it up is still acne. When I
started to cut back, it was hard at first, but I kept

telling myself that the reason I was doing it was so that
I *wouldn’t* have to wear make up in the future.
Try out using less and see if you like it!
