Went to the beach and spent considerable time
sunbathing. Was a bit conscious at first, but when I saw the
sun’s healing effects on my back acne, I was surprised.
I mostly have discolorations now (due to the sun
and saltwater, perhaps) but not as much breakouts as
I did before my vacation. There were no changes in
my diet. I’m thinking that my back acne was caused
by stress too.

And I didn’t use sunblock or
anything on my back. I just let the sun’s rays do its
work.

I went to my derma all freaked out that I had
scars but she assured me that it was just my skin
healing. Now I had and still get these redish indents in
my skin after I break out and she says they arn’t
scars. They are slowly and I mean SLOWLY going away but
I’m trying to be patient. So maybe what you have
could just be "healing skin." Also, I’m currently
taking an oral anti-biotic and I’m ortho-tri-cyclen so I
was wondering if anyone knew if the ortho is
pointless to take for my skin if the anti-biotic is just
canceling it out?
Thanks!~meg

Hi all!

There is a site that will let you
know which cosmetics are non-comedogenic and safe for
acne. It is called www.zerozits.com

I use it as
my "beauty bible" and try to stick with the
cosmetics they deem safe. Also, they have an ingredients
list that lets you know what to avoid
etc.

Another thing to keep in mind: Just because a cosmetic
says it is "oil free" does not mean it is. Go to the
site I just wrote about and it will explain
more!

Hope this helps!
Portia

have you talked to your derm. about possibly using vaniqua? it’s a facial cream
that eventually stops the growth of facial hair on women.

Amina

What is the best way to get rid of acne scars?
Also, is sacilyc acid used to peel away dead skin,
because every time I use it (which is maybe twice a year)
my skin gets a light burning sensation and later
begins to peel.

Amina
