Acne Tips

Hi, my name is Juli and I have had acne since I was about 10-11 years
old. I’ll tell you all about myself later, but I have a problem right
about now that I need a solution for. Lately, when I pluck my chin
hairs, I end up with a pimple in the exact spot the hair was a day
later(literally a day later!). Is there any way that I can PREVENT a
pimple from showing up after I pluck? I am at my wits end with this
problem! What’s weird is that when I used to pluck my hairs, I never
had this problem with pimples showing up. The two reasons that I
think this is happening is:

1) I used to look in the mirror when I pluck, but now I’ll just feel
the hair and put it right between the tweezers and pull. And there
are times that I do pinch myself without actually getting the hair.

2) I used to be on the pill for my face and I stopped using them

Hey Cathy (and everyone else)
I am from Winston-Salem, NC. I get acne mostly on my face (monthly,
too! Part of being woman, I guess!) But, when it comes my face is REALLY bad!
But, lately I’ve been getting them on my neck and back, too! NeutrogenaDeep
Clean works really well for me. It’s about $4 a bottle and any drug
store/most grocery stores. One problem, my face is sensetive and it dries it
out pretty bad. But, that’s ok. At night I use olay night firming cream or
Olay UV cream (cause I stay in the sun- I know it’s bad but I am trying to
prevent future harm by using those lotions) Clean & Clear feels good on my
face but it only worked for a short time and quit working! The derm has tried
me on oral and topical creams and NOTHING has worked from her! Differin was
the worst! It burnt my face so badly. It left actual blisters on my sensetive
skin. So, I stopped that. I am on birthcontrol and that does help a little,
the bumps aren’t as red and splotchy but it gets pretty bad. As anyone tried
proactive? Does it work or what? What all have you all tried? What worked and

. I tried proactive twice. The first time- i used it for two months
and it was very expensive and didnt do a thing to clear up my acne. The
second time I used it was about 2 years later and I figured I would give
it another shot… maybe I didnt use it long enough or the right way..
so I used it again for about 3 months and nothing… didnt do a dang
thing for me.. the only thing that has cleared up my skin perfectly was
RETINA - A Micro applied at night and neutrogena 2.5% on the spont acne
medication during the day. i also use clinque’s yellow moisturizer… i
started this regime on april 29 and by the first week of june for the
first time in my life i have clear skin. amazing. try it.

> are they on your nose?

npe they on my cheeks……………..=( I tried the retina but they arent
taking them away. I dont know what to do anymore. I have poped them but
they come back and I wash my face 2 times a day? So I am lost………..I do
back to the doctor on the 26th I think so I will tell her that the retina
didnt work?

Hi, I’m new to the group. I’m 14, and I live in Idaho. Before school starts
again this fall, I want PERFECT skin. I’m talking absolutely flawless. Right
now, I have a ton of small, skin colored bumps all over my forehead and next to
my nose. I also have a couple sort of scabby things from acne, and a smallish
zit below my mouth. Does anyone have any tips for getting rid of everything?

hi, Ive been taking natural acne pills for a while (acidipholus, skin
something??(by soloray), akne zyme, and a colon cleanser. i want to
start taking the musaffeen tablets, is taking all these pills
alright? even though they’re natural pills?

hi, how many times a day do u wash your face? I used to wash my face
about 5 times a day and it was very oily, then i started washing my
face only twice a day and now it is rarely ever oily (but i still
breakout), maybe that is why your face is oily?

are they on your nose? Hi, my name is dina! new to group. Try this- if
they are on your nose- do NOT use retina-a around or on your nose… oy-
what a mess- it will dry out your nasal cavaties and it hurts and its
gross… and your nose will peel… you can use the retina- a on your
chin though… but if you have black heads on your nose… theonly way i
know that gets rid of them is to get a good facial… go to a spa that
uses dermalogica products… they have a dermalogica acne fighting
facial.. and it will lift the blackheads right off your face … really
works. and your skin will thank you for it…
