Hi everyone, I am 30yrs old and never had acne I was always
complemented on my skin, people always asked me what I use to make my
skin look like that until now. I thought when you hit 30 you don’t
have to worry about acne, boy was I wrong. Acne is so my enemy now
it is driving me crazy. I went to my dermatologist who prescribed me
a Facial Cleanser and Moisturizer and told me I was lucky because I
have oily skin, so when I get old I won’t have a lot of wrinkles. I
basically through everything he gave me in the garbage because my
face was getting works. My aunt told me to stop using Moisturizer
because my skin is so oily already, so I am trying Clear Pore by
Neutrogena it help a little and Esoterica which is a skin
discoloration fade cream. I use Esoterica because I hate to see puss
bumps on my face so I pick at them all the time. I tried to stop but
I can’t. I only break out on my cheeks my forehead which is the
oiliest is clear as a whistle. I can’t understand why I break out on

Clean your face with milk with a cotton ball. One moisturizer that you can make
from your kitchen can make your skin really soft.
yogurt
orangejuice
apple and cucumber extract (just squeeze the juice from the fruit)
turmeric (just a few crumbs, thats it)
Mix these together into a somewhat liquidy paste. Apply and leave on your face
for about 15 minutes, rinse with cool water.
Hope I’ve helped.

Hi (i’m new)

I’m Isis and I’m new to this group. I have a ton of questions for your
collective wisdom. I have a condition my therapist calls either (and I
am still a bit confused) hyperkeratinization or dermatalogical
follicularis. I have been following her advice and using her product
line for over a month and no significant change. I have had this
condition since age 10, so that means 20 some years and I am tired of
it. I will be posting separately about my questions regarding this
after I run some archive searches.

Glad this group is here.

I definitely would not recommend the vaseline. If residue remains,
your skin cannot breathe properly. Olive oil is the safest non-clogging oil
to add moisture and to allow the skin to continue to breathe and function as
it should. Another one to look into is jojoba, most like our skin’s sebum
(actually a liquid wax ester, not an oil).
Try washing with oats … grind them up, pour out some into your hand,
wet just enough to make it gummy. Wash as if they were soap, rinse well.
Follow with a bit of olive oil, a bit of aloe gel, and a squirt of rosewater
as a toner. Do the same each night, except substitute the jojoba for the
olive oil.

i have a regime that might work for you.. but it takes patience and its
kinda gross….

for really dry skin… use ponds cold cream to wash off your makeup at
night… just rub it into skin lightly and wipe off with a damp warm
cloth…. careful! the mascara makes a mess on the cloth.. so use an old
one or a dark one…

at night take a good face cream like cetaphil… the cream not the
lotion… and mix a LITTLe bit of the cream with about a nice blob of
vaseline… plain ol vaseline or petroleum jelly…

coat your face with this… (best if you sleep alone or are single..
dont think i would do this if there was a man involved in any way in my
company.)

I myself have dry skin and I discovered that the best treatment for
dry skin is to apply moisturizer to it right after you get out of the
shower while the skin still has water in it. If you apply a lotion
to it when it is dry, then the skin will not be able to breathe and
it will get even drier since majority of skin products do not allow
moisture from the air to get into your skin. You can also try to
apply sour cream to your face after cleaning (fat free sour cream
will not help). And then wash it off with warm water when it dries.
I hope that helps.
