&#60;&#60;I've been at this for a long time &#38; am convinced there is a nutritional or

difference. Well, I'm sure for some people it doesn't. For me, it does.&#62;&#62;

I think that what you put in your body ABSOLUTELY has an effect on the
outside of your body. My esthetician recommends lots of fruits &#38; veggies
(vitamins &#38; antioxidants), olive oil (fatty acids), good protein, such as
chicken, fish &#38; lean beef (for healing), and lots of water (hydration). When
I stick to this way of eating, it makes a huge difference in my skin, not
just the acne, but firmness and &#34;glowiness&#34; (is that a word?) as well.

&#60;&#60;I still have a redness or red tone to my face. Similar to what it would
look like if I scrubbed too hard. But this redness doesnt go away. Its there
all the time. I dont want to wear a foundation makeup; but with this redness,
I cant seem to achive the &#34;clear&#34; skin look. I have little to no acne..just
redness. I dont believe its from the persagel, this is something that has
always been there. Along with the acne. I just thought it would go away with
the acne. Its been about a month now since Ive been on this solution. And I
wonder if I am just not being patient enough.&#62;&#62;

I have the same problem - I am almost completely cleared up (I only got ONE
zit with my last period, which is previously unheard of) and my dermatologist
says that the redness is actually scarring. I am desperate to get cleared up
as fast as possibly since my wedding is (gulp!) 59 days from today, so I am
&lt;!--more--&gt;
on the following regimen, to keep the acne gone, as well as get rid of the
scarring:

1. Glycolic acid cleanser (2x per day)
2. Glycolic acid toner (1x per day)
3. Glycolic acid lotion (1x per day)
4. Glycolic acid mask (1x per week)
5. Claron acne medication (every other day)
6. Oatmeal &#38; skim milk (whenever I feel like it)
7. Microdermabrasion (Power Peel) (once every other week)
8. Acne facial (once a month)
9. Oral antibiotics
10. Tri-phasic birth control pills (Ortho 777)

The glycolic acid stuff that I am using is called &#34;Glytone&#34; and I get it from
the dermatologist. My skin has literally not looked this good since I was,
like 10 years old. I am so excited about this.

Anyway, one thing that you can try if you have more time is try the essential
oil called Helichrysum - it is supposed to be wonderful for scarring. Just be
careful with it and only use a drop or 2 at a time, mixed with a little
lotion, once a day. It is a sedative essential oil, so your best bet would be
to use it at night before bed.

		<description>Hi Heather,
Your redness may be a complicated thing like or similar to rosacea, or
it may just be more like mine ... fairer skin is clearer, etc. I do
sometimes cheat with a LITTLE oil free foundation mixed in with my
moisturizing toner on days I feel I need a smoother (more monotone) look (and
use full makeup at evening business events, etc.).
I have a patch on my nosebridge that my mom also had ... scaly, comes
back a lot. Hers was a bit of skin cancer.
I'd consult a dermatologist on these conditions - can't hurt - and let
us know what he or she suggests.
