any tips for whiteheads?

Friday, July 30th, 2004

Dear everyone,

I am one of those who are cursed with dry skin and acnes. My acnes
are mostly in form of whitehead which makes my face quite bumpy.

I would appreciate it if anyone of you could share some tips with me
concerning this problem.

I m new here, so, sorry if this has been previously addressed.

thanks a ton

Hi all!!

Well, I figured I’ll put in my 2 cents….I’m 28 years old (male),
have been suffering (?) with acne since 13….Not too serious, but
have plenty of breakouts, my back, face and scalp….tried all the
OTC products with benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid….been able to
keep it under control but still flares up. First time I went to a
derm he gave me another 2% benzoyl peroxide solution, along with
retina-micro…didn’t help much. That was about 2 years ago.

I went back last month, and this time he prescribed Minocylin.
Well…we’ll see what happens. So far, it’s been good, with only
minor flare ups. No deep cystic type, yet. But it happens in cycles.
So I’ll wait it out, continue the Minocylin for at least the next
month.

I had a laser treatment today.

After the mid-term exam My skin got horrible. Probably because I didn;t get much
sleep. I think sleeping is the best solution for making your skin better.
anyway, I went to the dermatology and had the lunch peel. It’s my second time
but I;m still not so sure if it actually has any effects. Lunch peel is a kind
of treatment to make your indented scars look better. That’s my most concern as
I said in a lot of my other postings. I don’t know how the peeling works but
probably it kind of grinds (?) the outer part of the scar to make the scars look
more softer. I really suck at expressing this. Ask me some questions if you’re
curious about anything. Have a nice day!!

I’ve Had Enough…

Hey,
It’s been a loooonnngggg time since I wrote anything here, but I
recently have just gotten curious about soapmaking.
I remember Katie saying something about making her own soap?
Could someone who does this email me about it?
I have extremely sensitive skin and would like to get something, not
for my face, but for my hands and feet - the closer it gets to
winter the dryer they get with regular ole’ soap…So I thought I
might get into making my own :) Please let me know any info. anyone might have…. :)
Thanks,

Jen

Hello i’m 14 years old, i am aware Acne is very usually present at my
age, however i am getting slightly peed off at how i seem to have
more Acne then everyone else.
I have Acne on my back, my face and my shoulders. I look after
myself, i use different teqniques to prevent acne and to make my skin
less oily and dry.
What can i do?
What home remedies can i use?
I’ve spoken about contacting my Doctor, however people say he won’t
help as Acne is a Teen thing which will go away…
Help me please someone.
ThankYou
Richard Gregory

Castille soap?

Monday, July 26th, 2004

Amen, Stephanie … handmade true castile soap is wonderful. I make
one with jojoba and one without, and the one with it has helped my acne and
my "razor-pimple" problem on my thighs (really hard to get results there). I
made it with oats, goatmilk, aloe, and honey … all wonderful for
exfoliating, softening, clarifying, appropriate moisturizing, and deep
cleansing with no stripping.
Most people who advise against soap may be referring to commercial
bars. Unfortunately, some handmade bars (real soap) are not as good as
others, either, turning some off of them too.

Try www.ToDieForSoap.com where I ordered mine - much better price than the
health food store where I first got some. It’s wonderful stuff with a VERY
long shelf life.
