Successful acne management
Angelica, forgive the cut/paste rearrangement, but you’ve said it all
perfectly, and I just had to reiterate what you’ve said under a new title …
… I just had someone complement my skin tonight. They said it had really
cleared up and it was soft. I haven’t had a comment on my skin since I was a
teenager …
… my regime is an apricot scrub with sulfur soap. Differin. Aloe vera gel
with Miracell mixed in. Laser light treatments (just at the beginning).
Exactly. Skin that is properly cleansed for its type, is exfoliating
properly (or is appropriately assisted to do so), and skin that is kept
hydrated and soft (such as you’ve ensured by mixing aloe gel and Miracell)
will clear up much better than harsh, oil-stripping detergents, alcohol, and
dry-up products …
As far as the ingredients of Miracell is concerned, as long as it works I
don’t care what is in it or what the morals of the company are or not.
Many do not care and, like I said, these ingredients are exactly the type of
thing I do on a much simpler scale by using a hydrating (or at least
non-drying) toner and jojoba together … my son and sister use olive oil …
I’ll post the ingredients you kindly provided again for reference, as they
are worth another look (whether you choose to buy this product, which many
will, or whether you choose to research the oils and adapt your own for your
skin’s needs). Miracell …
a.. Apricot kernel oil - tones, softens
b.. Sesame oil - conditions
c.. Caprylic/capric triglyceride - smoothes
d.. Avocado oil - cleans, replenishes
e.. Squalane oil - heals
f.. Jojoba oil - conditions
g.. Camellia kissi oil - soothes
h.. Aloe vera oil - heals, softens
i.. Vitamin E - retards aging
j.. Lecithin - antioxidant emollient
k.. Vitamin A - heals, soothes
l.. Vitamin D3 - heals, sooths, nurtures
m.. Propylparaben - food grade
n.. Natural fragrance - Myrrh
I have found when I do my regime, my skin is shiny (though not greasy) and I
often end up adding powder over foundation for certain events. It is true
that rough patches or thin skin does not want to stay covered with liquids,
even those designed as concealers. It definitely sounds like bareEscentuals
is worth the trouble and money for this problem. In the general mineral
makeup search I did, I saw how mineral makeup covered … a newly
laser-resurfaced face, still quite red and raw, was made up on one half and
naked on the other half.

It’s a soap from Mexico that contains sulfur. There are three major ways to

I bought it

works for me and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg……and a finger
at Safeway here in Arizona. I will look for the website info for those who want
it. Katie your regime is like mine just with different products. I also have
found that drink your vitamins and also drinking your essential oils is VERY
important. These oils keep you hydrated from the inside. They are usually
contained in fish like salmon. I will post them later today. Gotta go. I’m late
like always!

PLEASE DO SEND THAT INFORMATION - in your free time, of course
Katie your regime is like mine just with different products.
TRUE … benzoyl peroxide hasn’t been successful for me and, though I’ve
had reactions to things with sulfur, it’s not true with all things with
sulfur (vinegar, etc.) in the right concentrations. As for glycolic acid, I
think it’s derived from sugars, and do use sugar and honey a lot. But, like
the milk that I also use is the source for lactic acid but is not the same as
saying I’ve added lactic acid to my mix, it’s still good.
As for "free time," mine may be about to end for awhile … I may be starting
a temp job as soon as Thursday. It would have been tomorrow, but my 10yo DS
is too sick still to go back to school. Meanwhile, I have to cram a major
project for my husband’s rep and realize my time to complete that is closing
in. So, if I don’t post for awhile, it’s not cuz I’ve forgotten you guys.
