Can anyone help???
Hello everyone!
Can anyone help me with my blemish problems? I have oily skin and am very prone
to breakouts and nothing seems to work. It either over dries my skin or just
make me breakout more. Any suggestions for a good cleanser???

Hi and welcome -
In our archives, I’ve posted many times about a powder made with oats, milk,
and sugar that should prove most helpful.

Hi again …
Was in huge hurry yesterday, sorry … Grind up rolled oats in a blender.
They contain beta glucan, one of the best skin hydrators and cleansers (for
all skin types). Then, wisk together equal parts of ground oats, dry milk,
and sugar. The milk is a perfect non-oil emollient (softening) to the
surface skin and also assists exfoliation. Sugar is the germ fighter …
though not a strong one like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid … and, like
honey, sugar is also very emollient. This combination leaves skin clean and
soft and ready for your next step.
Store this unpreserved product in a container that does not let water, steam,
or humidity into the product - I buy Rubbermaid’s 2c Flip-Top drink
containers - another precaution is to keep it at the sink / out of the shower
area. As Mandy mentioned, the cleanser is not the treatment … and I also
recommend Paula Begoun’s website - she’s got a lot of information worth
reading.
I personally prefer this cleanser to any of the others … as with
everything, it’s a matter of preference and, in this case, extremely budget
friendly without sacrificing the objective of gentle, thorough cleansing.
Pour out between 2tsp and 1 Tbsp into your palm, close up the container, then
sprinkle just enough water into the mix to form a paste to the consistency
you like. Wash face gently in circular motion … no need to scrub, the
sugar and oats do enough of that for you. You can use as either a cleanser
or a mask, then rinse very well.
Above all, oily skin must avoid stripping all the oils in the cleansing or
toning … those temporary comforts will cause the skin to overproduce oils.
All of us need skin that is hydrated (holds good water content), and your
oils are their own natural occlusive for maintaining this hydration.
Let us know what regimens you try and how they work.
