Acne!
Hi!
I am a 23-year old boy and I have been suffering from severe acne for the past 6
years. I have consulted a number of specialists but it has shown no sign of
relief. Nowadays, I am using an ointment called ‘Airol’. I dont know when it
would show some results but I am disappointed to see a couple more white colored
small dots (pimples?) on my face everyday I look in the mirror. This has been
happening for a lot of time and I dont know how to cure them. Ofcourse this is
happening before I started Airol. I also try to wash my face with Neutrogena
soap once daily.
However, I have a specific question. A few weeks back, a real large swelling
(basically a large pimple) found itself near my chin. After being there, it sort
of fizzled out but took the skin with it which covered the size of the pimple.
Now, the problem that has occured is that the piece of skin that was lost doesnt
have any hair growing on it near my chin. Its about an inch-long area and now
even after a couple of weeks, there are no signs of hair growing back there. I
am very worried and it looks so weird when I grow a stubble as there is hair
everywhere except that small area.
Can anyone here please help me on this? What is the cause and what are the
possible solutions to get hair back here? I would also appreciate any help
regarding my ever increasing load of pimples and dots on my chin; I cant even
see my chin anymore as its all dots.
Thanks a lot. Best wishes.
Mark.

Hi Mark,
The small white dots are whiteheads. Hard to clear - period. Neutrogena may
or may not be what you need, depending upon if it’s
overcleaning/stripping/drying or gently cleaning … also depending upon whether
or not you respond
well to that active ingredient.
As for the hair … go to cosmeticcops.com and e-mail this question to Paula
Beggoun. If she can’t answer, I’m sure she can refer you.

Hi Katie!
Are whiteheads just like blackheads, but white? The dots I have have a
pimple-like shape and size but they are white in color. Do you still think they
are white heads?
I would be emailing to Paula just now. However, you please respond.
Thanks.
Mark.

Hi, Mark …
They are similar. A "pimple" is filled with oil, and sometimes also with
dead-skin cells and white blood cells (puss) trying to fight trapped / growing
bacteria. The reason a blackhead is so hard to clear is that it has no oil in
it (even if you’re oily skinned overall), but has trapped dead-skin cells and
white blood cells fighting trapped / growing bacteria … the pore is open,
dirt sticks to it, thus it appears black. The only difference between a
blackhead and whitehead is that, with a whitehead, the pore is closed and dirt
cannot
get to it.
By maintaining soft, moist, "elastic" surface skin and encouraging
exfoliation, it helps … oils such as jojoba help the matter in a blackhead
dissolve
and clear … and products with salicylic acid are the best IMO to further clean
and exfoliate inside the pores, something our non-drug topical products
cannot do.
Hope that helps you.
I may be quiet for awhile, but will try to peek in … I’m off to organize my
new soaping room and start making my new recipes in experimental batches by
next Wednesday. I have several of these to make, and HOPE they turn out as
anticipated.

have u tried dabbing vinegar on the spots?
Hi,
I have had acne problems for a while. I use everything!
I use an antibacterial soap to wash my face,
Then a cleanser,
I then but moisturiser on my face it is called Emprizone and is a
nutrient filled gel,
I the apply Proactive three step routine,
Afterwards I use a clean and clear moisturiser,
Then I use a Neutrogena one spot treatment on existing acne.
I have used these in many combinations such as using the Proactive by
itself like recommended for months, but have discovered that what I
use now helps to control acne breakouts, but my results are not
consistent sometimes my face will be fine and sometimes it will be
awful and sometimes it may look OK but there is a lot of minor acne
spots on it. I also take MannaTech Vitamins to control my unbalanced
diet and I am recently trying to drink 2 litres of water a day because
it is recommended to help.
My years of acne and expensive routine only helps improve my acne by
70% but my acne still countinues on its warpath!
Can any one give advice on how to stop my acne once and for all!
Thanks,
