Acne Problems

Thursday, February 10th, 2005

I have found that Cetaphil’s gentle cleansing bar for sensitive skin
works the best for me when it comes to cleaning the face to remove
dirt and oil build ups to help prevent clogged pores. I didn’t
really care for the smell at first but I got used to it.
I clean my face three times a day with the cetaphil bar and use a
clean wash cloth each time. The wash cloth works well to gently
exfoliate and open the pores without causing the redness and
irritation that I had when using the AHA’s.

I hope this helps,

Katrina

Acne Problems

Wednesday, February 9th, 2005

Hi! (I posted a similar message earlier, but I have some additonal questions to
ask this time)

I am a 23-year old boy and I have been suffering from severe acne for the past 5
years. I have consulted a number of specialists and used nearly all kinds of
medication, but it has shown no sign of relief. Nowadays, I am using an ointment
called ‘Airol’ for more than a fortnight. However, the condition does not seem
to have bettered; infact it has sort of worsened as I see some new white colored
pimples on my face everyday. This has been happening for very long and I dont
know how to cure them. I also try to wash my face with Neutrogena (normal
formula) soap once daily. Using Neutrogena and Airol or using either of them
causes white flakes to form on my face and it roughens my face a lot. I dont
think that the soap as well as the ointment suits my skin a great deal.

I have researched a bit and found that accutane is also used as a treatment for

Hello

I just joined this group because I really need advice on some quick
ackne treatment. I’m throwing a huge party on Wednesday and of course
I would like to look every bit the glowing hostess (I wish:)).
Unfortunately, a few days ago I got ackne on my chin. I usually get a
few spots on my forehead every once in a while, but nothing like
this. It’s red (like patches), there’s a lot of it, and it’s not
getting any better with time. I’ve tried my usually face products on
it (L’orèal face wash) but without results. I so hope some of you
know of a smart, healthy way of beating this.

Sincerely,
Lise

Hi!!

Can someone please tell me the generic name of TAZORAC and if it is a
prescription drug? I live here in the Philippines and my face is super super
oily, maybe that can control the oilness a notch, you think?

Thank you very much for your help!

You could try a drop of jojoba applied very softly on a Q-tip before you
shower, then make sure when you soap your ears you let the rinse water gently
rinse soap in and out of your ear canal. Also for ears, doctors often use sweet
almond or sweet olive oils. The idea is that you want some oil to assist your
body with the clearing of the matter, and harsh cleansers alone - especially
in an ear that requires a waxy coating - aren’t a great help (and can cause
terrible skin infections). Jojoba is a liquid wax ester rather than an oil.

Let us know if it helps.

Anyone used Tazorac

Saturday, February 5th, 2005

Hi,

I used Tazorac for two months - Is it effective? if you’re skin is
too oily - then yes it will dry it out. For me , it was too drying.
Side effects? yes, it was too drying and caused itching and flakey
skin. I think it made my skin-tone redder.
Advice? Not all products work for everyone and not all skin reacts
the same. It may be right for you but it wasn’t good for me. My
advice would be to make an "informed" decision. Read up everything
you can find on it and decide if the risks are worth it for you.

Good luck,

Katrina
