Microderm

Saturday, March 12th, 2005

I have had 3 microderm treatments this summer, along with 2
extraction facials and a blueberry jessner peel (currently peeling).
I was happy with the microderm but am told that the jessner does the
job of 3 microderms. I am also on The Pill but I do not think it has
helped yet. I do not know if all these treatments will get rid of
new acne, but most of my old scars are gone, at least.

Microderm leaves my face hurting for the rest of the day, so I do it
in the afternoon. Ibuprofren helps, and so does a cold washcloth to
soothe the burning. I saw a home kit for microderm the other
day…it didn’t look anything like what they use on me in the
office. I would spend $80 on one real microderm treatment before I
would spend $40 on a home gadget.

I am lucky - I found a good aestetition (sp?) who I trust. So far I

Newbie Here

Friday, March 11th, 2005

Hi everyone. I joined this site yesterday. I got the link for another
member in my inbox. I think is a great site. It would also help me
with the acne in my face. I have tried almost everything, but I still
have a acne problem in my face. I used to have acne on my back and
chest, but I used Neutrogena medicated bodywash and the problem is
gone. I can’t seem to get rid of the acne in my face. Any suggestions
anyone. Thank You in Advance.

Sincerely,
Marla

My 5 cents…

Okay, I have to say this… The reason the depression/Accutane connection is
all crazy is
because a biological link has not been found yet. This means that as of now,
there have been no
physical test results that show Accutane causing clincial depression (i.e.,
Accutane has not been
linked to causing the chemical imbalance that is depression.). Obviously, this
is a pretty
difficult thing to find, but they haven’t found a "casual link" yet, as they
say.

Unfortunately, because of the nature of people taking this drug (severe,
disfiguring acne), this
link is even more difficult to flesh out because people feel so bad about
themselves prior to

Microderm, hair removal and a summer rant…

One thing that I really like are the Salicylic acne pads. I use them
twice a day and I think they do more good than anything. (You need a
non-oily moisturizer afterwards)

Mine came back because of hormones, so maybe for a guy who doesn’t have as
many hormonal issues it would work fine. You really have to drink plenty
of fluids and keep chapstick with you at all times! It does make you dry
out, but I loved the results (for awhile anyways). I wasn’t worried about
the pregnancy factor because I’m past all that.

"Acne makeup" is that neutragena makeup with salicylic acid in it…
comes in different shades. It’s a liquid makeup foundation, I
think… I dunno 100%, I’m a guy. I just bought the stuff to cover up
the nasty redness that was kindly left behind by these bumps.
