New member w/ Cystic Acne
Hello, my name is Nicole.
I’m new to this group and suffer from cystic acne, mostly hormonal,
and then I get smaller breakouts (whiteheads,blackheads), throughout
the month all over my face, back and sometimes chest. I’m 25, have
had one baby (which made my acne worse), and hope to have another
baby within a year or two.
I’ve tried EVERYTHING that is available OTC, and stick with each one
for at least 3 months. I’ve been to a dermatologist, who prescribed
many different things, none of which worked and the antibiotics kept
giving me secondary infections.
I tried Proactiv about 5 years ago, didn’t work, and for some
strange reason I just purchased the kit again HOPING that it would
work this time. I figure at least I can say I gave it another try

much money.
I wouldn’t mind my acne quite so much if it wasn’t so painful. The
blemishes are just so big and hard and almost never come to a head.
They just slowly shrink down and leave scars.
I slather on as much foundation as I can to try to cover it up, it
helps but it’s still very noticable.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to a treatment for cystic acne?
I read on the Proactiv website that it was for mild-to-moderate
acne. I have severe acne, so I’m sure I’ll be sending it back. :o(
