CYSTIC ACNE
Dear Sheila-
I am so sorry to hear about your cystic acne condition. That must really be
awful to deal with. I have read information and research about your condition
and many different medical treatments have been designed to treat your
condition. The problem I have seen is that none are 100% effective. I have
been in the health care field of nutrition for 20 years and I have found that
nutrition prevents many health conditions. However, using only a few vitamins
has not proven effective either. Vitamins have a synergy about them and they
work together when in the correct amounts to fight infections. Hence you have a
bacteria infection- your immune system may not be effective in fighting this
bacteria. The best way to build of the immune system is with high potency
multivitamin. Find a mulitvitamin that is pharmaceutical grade not just FDA
approved and has a potency guarantee. You will have few choices. I have found
one that uses pharmaceutical testing and has done wonders for people.
I use it with my teenage patients and it keeps their skin clearer. With your
concern with taking prescription drugs- and you are smart to be careful- trying
a high potency multivitamin will cause no harm but in fact may improve your
condition and your overall health. visit the web page and let me know what you
think. good luck juli
i wish i only suffered from a mild case of acne. however, i have been
told by a couple of docs that i have a severe case of cystic acne. i
guess they rank the severity of acne from grade 1 being mild to grade
4 being very severe. they have told that i am between a grade 3-4.
well i have tried numerous medications from topical creams and gels
to antibiotics. i can’t even remember what i have tried in the past
years. i even tried for a number of months to get professional
facials at a well-known spa on a monthly basis. i definitely dished
out mucho money for those facials. plus i even tried to do
microdermabrasion to help peel the layers of dead skin to help
exfoliate my skin. my mom said that it was only making it worse
rather than better, but i was simply desperate.
i have been suffering with acne for years and am completely
frustrated that nothing has completely worked. it is depressing and
embarrassing at the same time. i don’t want to live the rest of my
life with acne.
i have gone to a plastic surgeon recently who has suggested a rather
new technique called clearlight. it is expensive. plus he wants to
put me on a skin care regimen that includes facial products and
antibiotics. the technique is supposed to reduce the bacteria that
causes acne.
i would like to get some feedback if anyone has heard about
clearlight. i am also a bit hesistant about accutane. i am worried
about the side effects i have read about and have heard that the
results don’t always last the first time around.
thanks.
