Get educated!
Personally, I have found that the best thing that i ever did
for my skin was to read 2 books. I am in no way affiliated with,
nor will i profit what so ever from this recomendation- I just want
to offer some assistance. Is anyone familiar with Paula Begoun?
Well, i practically worship her- before i buy any makeup or skincare
i always look the proudct up in her "cosmetics bible" or in one of
her newsletters (the downside is that for only 6 issues a year it is
18 dollars -but i think its worth it!)
Paula Begounthe author of the two books that i am refering to -
"don’t do to the cosmetics counter without me" and "the beauty
bible." I have learned so much from these books. I can see why
many people in the cosmetics industry don’t like her- she tells the
truth about a proudct and has deffinatly saved me plenty of money.
For instance, i never knew that many of the proudcts with BHA’s
(beta hydroxy acids- like salysilic acid) and AHA’s (alpha hydroxy
acids- like glycolic acid) don’t even have a low enoufgh PH to
actually have an effect on your skin!! I will stop ranting on- but
i really encourage you to check out her
website "www.cosmeticscop.com" there are lots of free proudct
reviews and tons of information on skincare, ingredients, etc…
Also, I know that because she has her own line of proudcts, many
people think that she is trying to discredit others just to sell
hers. But I truly believe that its not true- she actually only
started to make her own line when some of her devoted fans asked her
too. She has been "educating consumers" for over a decade and only
started her line a few years ago. I really like her proudcts- but
they are not the only things that i use- i buy many of the other
brand proudcts that she recommends. I think of her newsletter like
a "consumer reports" but for my skin- it helps me pick out good
proudcts.
Sorry this post is so long but I really wanted you to know this
information existed- if you dont get it from paula at least try to
get it somewhere else.
Thanks, Lara
