Has anyone used?

Saturday, November 26th, 2005

I finally got the names of my acne medications written down so I could post them
here. My derm prescribed Duac topical gel with 5% benzoyl in it for night, and
Tretinoin Cream for day this is an antibiotic he said. He didnt want to give me
one by mouth if it could be avoided since I am already on a low dosage of
Antibiotics for urinary tract probs. If anyone has used these and has an opinion
on them I’d love to hear it. Also I have recently purchased Avon’s new line of
facial care products called Porefection it has acne fighting agents for adult
skin it says. I bought the cleanser, toner and oil absorbing lotion but not sure
if I should use these products with the medications so any advice on this too
would be of great help. Shelly

Some suggestions for acne

gummymellows,

i had the same lower back problem. i just started
woring out more, preferably stretching out my back
doing arches. also, you must remember not to slouch
cuz that could be exacerbating your problem.

after a good 15 minute stretch, my back doesn’t hurt
for an entire 48 hours :)
don’t do the chiropractor thing unless your insurance
covers it. i know mine didn’t since the pain was
considered "serious".

# of people w/ acne in the past and now….

Friday, November 25th, 2005

has the number of acne in people increased a lot since ten years? or
is it just that people are more concerned with their looks and
searching for derms?!?!?!
i dont kno about the derms in other states but definitely those in
cali are waaaaaaaaaaay freakin superficial and materialistic.
ive been to probably 5 professional derms (two asian, one mexican,
one armenian, and one white) (not to offend anyone but…)
neways, none of them were really concerned…armenian doctor in
newport beach charged the most…i nearly spent 1500 on lasers w/
him and when it didnt work, he said i could hab accutane if i wanted
or do MORE EXPENSIVE STUFF~!!! wth…
the white guy i went didnt hab too many equipments and only got me
to take doxycycline and creams of all types. didnt work…spent too
much cash on visits that didnt do nething..
the asian guy said it was hormones…wth? but other asian places

i sleep more than 6hrs regardless of the bed i sleep in. are u
saying that i should go to a chiropractor to fix my back first?
which one do u recommend for me then? i have a tendency to slouch
and im finding it very very difficult to remember to straighten up.
thank you.

Some suggestions for acne

Occassionally a clueless dermatologist strikes mighty rich with the
obligatory "medication" that is supposed to cure all, and usually is
just a blind man/woman striking in the dark, hoping to cure what all
ails us so. Strange thing is, the dermatology profession started out
as a branch of the urology profession in the 1830’s, and dealt mostly
with STD’s and the like. Acne just kind of fell into their lap, as
the first treatment for it did not surface until 1902 (in the form of
X-rays) … All the dermatologists I’ve been to were less concerned
with answering my questions, and more concerned with giving me some
pills to make me get out of their office in assembly-line fashion.
None of this did anything but make me broke and tired of these so-
called "professionals".

So, here are some neat-O things that I found out:

else have similar experiences..any suggestions that may help me bear
throught this while I anticipate …clear skin!!!! Also any
sugestions for a good face wash/foundation that wound irritate my
skin more?

Thanks in advance,

stubborn acne

I have found that Cethaphil works as an excellent skin cleanser. I
have been using this since I was in my teens. I am now 30. It is a
great makeup remover as well. I use the liquid cleanser rather than
the bar that they must have recently came out with.

ahhhh!!! i thought i found the way to clear skin!!!

I have tried every Over-the-counter Acne soap and have noticed my skin is
sensitive to both Benzoyl Peroxide and Salycic Acid (spelling?). I have finally
found a face cleaner that doesn’t irritate the heck out of my skin, doesn’t
contain oil, and doesn’t leave any residue. It’s called Neutrogena Rapid Clear
Oil Control Foaming Cleanser. I don’t know how this stuff works but my face is
clearing up. However, I did not buy the other products they have. The
astringent/toner contains oil. (A lot of lines have oil in their astingent~ I
have no idea why) Their "Pimple Medication" is Salycic acid so i didn’t get that
either. I have used other Neutrogena Skin cleansers (Like the one for Sensitive
Skin~ It’s actually very irritating) and have not been satisfied but I’ll try
anything without Salycic Acid or Peroxide. I also scrub my face (lightly) with a
wash cloth when I wash it because I have some large pores. Hope this helps
someone!

but i thought WRONG!!!! =(

That must be very fustrating, the same thing happens to me, i’ll try an acne
soap and it’ll work for a couple of days and then it’ll stop working, so
I just keep on trying new acne soaps, well actually i get the kind that
Doesn’t have soap in it, so i’m not sure what those things are actually called.
