new member-sensitive skin

Dear Tuccie,
I am a licensed esthetician and feel I can offer some professional advice before
you spend money on a dermatologist.

First of all, you are kind of on the money but skin sensitivity can be a factor
of several things. Sensitive skin is actually the result of a thinned out
dermis. This happens over time with the outer layer of skin getting thicker.
The thicker the epidermis (outer layer) the thinner the dermis (middle layer).
What this means is that the dermal layer isn’t getting the things it needs to be
healthy because the outer layer is blocking it. So it mimics sensitivity.

The products that you are using that are drying out your skin are doing so
because your outer layer is so thick that the product can’t get moisture into
the dermis. The basic key for you is exfoliation. You need to get rid of that
thickened outer layer so that the products you use can reach the dermis. I

Hi Gina,

I just curious as i have visited the website you display in your e-mail,
but i would say most of the products
you had recommended is not to cured acne or maintain acne prone skin. It is
more cater to maintaining
normal skin rather than to those people with major acne prone skin which
are hereditary or hormonal
imbalance. But from your e-mail it indicates that this skin-care range
address those problems.

So my question is does it really target major acne problems or it only
address minor blemishes problems?
As acne problems are recurring not a once-off experience i say as mostly it
also relates back to our

new member-sensitive skin

Hello all. I’m a newbie with lots of questions and concern regarding
my skin. I recently self diagnosed myself with sensitive,
combination, acne prone skin. Its actually a relief- I think. I’ve
always had a moderate amount of acne- enough to notice, but not too
many for a problem. Well, that was until recently when my whole body
went into wack. I noticed I was getting a lot more pimples
coumpounding in one area, and they weren’t leaving fast. Then, the
normal face cream and face wash I was using began irrating my skin,
turning it red so I was blushing on my forehead and cheeks. So,
without thinking it could be the ingredients, I went out and bought a
different brand with the same basic ingredients. Of course, it ended
up leaving the same results, or added more pimples. After doing
some research, I notice I have a lot of characteristics of sensitive
skin. So a friend suggested two possible solutions: 1) a cleansing
bar called Basic, and 2)a face wash called Purpose. Purpose was too

Biophora products?

Sunday, January 15th, 2006

My son was given this from the dr. and he found it dried and stung his
skin. His face was really red and dried up so bad he said he felt like
his skin would crack if he smiled. I figured since he couldn’t use it I
would and wow did it burn my skin. I used it only at night but the dr.
recommended I use it twice a day. Oh my god I wanted to die when I put
it on. I can’t use it anymore. I made up my own lotion and stick with
that. Its not clearing my skin up 100% BUT its better than not at all.
And certainly better than the other stuff that really stung and dried
out my face.

Biophora products?

Saturday, January 14th, 2006

Hi

I consulted a doctor for my acne and he suggested I used Biophora
products.
There are 6 products he recommended abd they add up to 350 dollars.
I was hoping to get feedbacks from people who have used this line
before I spend that much money.

So please let me know what you think of Biophora products.

Thanks

Chris

Hello Everyone,

Being concerned about what is in skin cleansing products is
a very important concern. And cosmetic companies don’t tell
us if they are using harmful chemicals in their products. I’d like
to share my experience with my own skincare problems and the product
that I am now using. Also, listed at the bottom of this message is
a very important link that takes you to an independent study on
cosmetic and skincare products and the level of harmful chemicals in
them.

Most of my life, I’ve just used soap and water not wanting
to use something that would irritate my skin more than it was
already. As I moved into my mid 30’s, here I am facing the issues
of unhealthy skin, I have suffered from red dry patches and spots of

I haven’t tried it but I’m wondering the ingredients? I went to the
website but couldn’t find the ingredients in it. One mask that I
tried recently that is awesome is Clare LeDor (www.clareledor.com)
Clay Mask - it is fantastic - feels great and definitely helps acne
and shrinks pores. She has other products for acne also that use bee
propolis - very good for acne. (that is in this mask also)
