Birth control or ProActiv

Hi all,

I wrote a while back stating that I’d give a little update on my acne
once I started taking birth control pills. I started them two and a
half weeks ago (Dec. 19), and I hadn’t really noticed a difference
until a couple of days ago. My arms and chest have improved greatly.
I’m not sure about my back; I haven’t ever really studied it to
compare before-and-after. My face looks better, too; however, that may
be because of the 30-day supply of ProActiv my mom bought for me for
Christmas. I started it on December 23, and after just two
applications, my face was a LOT smoother. Last week, I noticed that
the redness in my cheeks and forehead had disappeared (still good, too).
The improvement in my arms, chest, and possibly back have to be the
pill because I don’t use ProActiv there, and it doesn’t really travel
like that. Fewer pimples on my face could also be the pill, but

smoothness and the reduction of oil and redness have to be the ProActiv.
Next month, I’m going to solely use ProActiv. My mom doesn’t want me
to mess with my hormones with the pill. I also want to see which works
better for me (I should have waited to start ProActiv, but it has
automatic shipments). They are basically the same price per month
(Apri: 28-pack for roughly $20. ProActiv: 60-day supply for $45).

Good luck, everyone.

Dianne
