When do men grow out of whiteheads?
Everyone has different skin types, so it is really hard to tell you when you
will "outgrow" them. The best thing you can do is the wash your face regularly
with something like Hypoderm (sp?) at the very least.
I go a little overboard according to my friends, but I will go ahead and tell
you how I deal with them: I start out removing my make up, (you can probably
skip that step LOL) Then I use a scrubbing cleanser, medicated or not medicated,
depends on how easily your skin gets dried out. Then I wash with a medicated
wash, usually hypoderm, but I have a couple of others that I sometimes use
instead because the hypoderm tends to dry my skin out worse than some of the
others. I use it every two to three days. After that, a good toner to help
shrink your pores and top it all off with moisturizer. I always get one that is
for people with acne. They are a little more expensive, but won’t make your face
all greasy like some of them tend to do. Yes, you do need a moisturizer, even if
you have oily skin. Acne medications dry out your face and also irritate your
skin. The moisturizer helps keep it from peeling and flaking. Even if you only
use one of those steps, you need to use the last one. Almost anyone who has been
through this as long as I have will agree.
I have all but conquered the whiteheads. I very rarely break out anymore. I
battle blackheads, though and that is bad enough.

I don’t think the zits are related to shaving- they come out above the shave
line - they’re
basically the same zits I’ve gotten since I was a teenager. You know, little
red spots that
eventually get filled with the white stuff - puss. Never very big and they
only last a few
days.
It’s like post-puberty acne that people tend to grow out of. But I’m 29 and I
thought I’d
outgrow them by now. Anyone know the average age that people grow out of
these zits?
Maybe in another five years? My parents have perfectly clear skin and I know
that genetics
plays a part.
