arbonne question
Hi Laurie Jeanne,
I have done my homework. I am a Medical Massage Therapist (15+ years) and I
have been studying skincare and personal care products and the toxic
ingredients some of them contain for over 10 years. I had to do this for my
health (because of the Multiple Chemical Sensitivities) and the health of my
family. I am not picking on Arbonne. I simply stated what happened to me.
As far as the ingredients, I stand by my original e-mail.
BUTYLENE GLYCOL - this glycol is the only glycol that is NOT on the GRAS
list. (FDA’s Generally Recognized As Safe list). Go to FDA website.
There are several preservatives that do not contain parabens in them that
are considered safe according to The ToxicFree Foundation, www.toxicfree.org
Maybe Arbonne should use those preservatives instead.
I don’t want to bash any product, but I am hoping to enlighten and educate
consumers of what is in their products. Being an educated consumer saved my
life.
PLEASE read labels, not only the ones on your food, but what you put on your
skin and hair also.
To the list owner, my sincere apologies. Usually it is reps from companies
that own these types of lists. I was just trying to answer the questions on
the original e-mail. I have learned many things on this list and would
never wish to upset you.

Ro,
I’m sorry you had a reaction to a product but before you bash it; please
do all your research.
Butylene Glycol is an organic alcohol — most acne products contain SD40
alcohol — how THAT’S something you need to worry about! It’s chemical and
it’s very harsh on the skin.
The other ingredients you list below are preservatives and you know what?
If you don’t have any preservatives at all in your products, little green
things start growing out of them!!
Arbonne products contain less that 1% preservatives (do your homework -
other companies have between 20 and 40% preservatives).
If you don’t like these products, fine. Don’t like them. But don’t bash
them either - that also is not what this forum is about!
Hi,
I suffer with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities and had a reaction to Arbonne.
I would not use it.
I got information directly from Arbonne about their CLEAR ADVANTAGE ACNE
LOTION. It contains these TOXIC ingredients:
BUTYLENE GLYCOL - this glycol is the only glycol that is not on the GRAS
list. (FDA’s Generally Recognized As Safe list). Go to FDA website.
Methylparaben
Proplyparaben
Diazoldinyl Urea - contains free formaldehyde.
This is the link Arbonne sent me with the ingredients. You can check it out
for yourself. Don’t take my word for it.

If you want to learn more about the above TOXIC ingredients and the harm
they can do to your health, go to www.absolutelyorganic-toxicfree.com and
click on "PLEASE AVOID" or to the TOXICFREE Foundation’s website at
www.toxicfree.org.
My best advice to acne sufferers and really to everyone, is to CHECK YOUR
INGREDIENT LABELS! Be an educated consumer. Don’t put products with toxic
ingredients on your skin.
