arbonne question

Laurie-Jeanne,

1. NO WHERE in my e-mail did I say that the FDA governed the cosmetics
industry. The FDA classifies cosmetics and personal care products, but does
not regulate them. In 1938, the FDA granted self-regulation to the
Cosmetics, Toiletries and Fragrance Association (CTFA). I simply stated…
"BUTYLENE GLYCOL - this glycol is the only glycol that is not on the GRAS
list. (FDA’s Generally Recognized As Safe list). Go to FDA website. ".
The FDA WEBSITE is www.fda.gov. Click on "Cosmetics". It is full of very
useful information about the cosmetic industry. If you click on G, it will
give you information about the GRAS list.

2. This website is for sharing information with others including what
products we have used and what has worked and not worked for them. I simply
was sharing my experience.

3. This website is NOT for selling or promoting a product line that one
sells.

4. I was not lashing out. I was simply sharing my own experience. When I
encountered the experience, I contacted Arbonne and they sent me the
complete product ingredient list. The Toxic Free Foundation as helped me
and thousands of others to live as toxic-free life as possible (with or
without any particular affliction). I happen to think their website
www.toxicfree.org is very informative and is backed by over 30 years of
research. I will not use a product that has any ingredients that they list
as toxic.

The toxic free foundation lists the following as toxic.

BUTYLENE GLYCOL - this glycol is the only glycol that is not on the GRAS
list. (FDA’s Generally Recognized As Safe list). Go to FDA website.

Methylparaben

Proplyparaben

Diazoldinyl Urea - contains free formaldehyde.

5. I am very relaxed. Thank you. I simply was sharing my experience with
squattro26 and the group. I would hope everyone else would do the same. I
have also shared with folks not to use alcohol on their skin. Before I
learned better, I used it.

6. I have never complained, just shared information (about "my experience")
that was asked for.

Have a great week!
Blessings,
R

Nice to see your resume but apparently you have not completed your
research regardless. Read up more on what the FDA actually is and what they
can and cannot do. They are not a governing body over the skin care industry
as you imply. The USA does not have a governing body over this industry
whatsoever.

And yes Ro, you are indeed bashing a product — go back and reread your
original email. But that’s OK.

I learned long ago that when people lash out at something or someone, the
issue is not in the "thing" being complained about– it’s in the person
complaining.

Sit back and relax. And be glad that although you personally have not
been helped by Arbonne, thousands and thousands of people have!

That is what this site is for.

And fortunately the people who read this site are, for the most part,
grown adults who will make their decisions based on their own results.

Arbonne offers a 45-day money back guarantee. So return yours — get your
money back and stop complaining!

I have done my homework. I am a Medical Massage Therapist (15+ years) and I
have been studying skincare and personal care products and the toxic
ingredients some of them contain for over 10 years. I had to do this for my
health (because of the Multiple Chemical Sensitivities) and the health of my
family. I am not picking on Arbonne. I simply stated what happened to me.
As far as the ingredients, I stand by my original e-mail.

BUTYLENE GLYCOL - this glycol is the only glycol that is NOT on the GRAS
list. (FDA’s Generally Recognized As Safe list). Go to FDA website.

There are several preservatives that do not contain parabens in them that
are considered safe according to The ToxicFree Foundation, www.toxicfree.org
Maybe Arbonne should use those preservatives instead.

I don’t want to bash any product, but I am hoping to enlighten and educate
consumers of what is in their products. Being an educated consumer saved my
life.

PLEASE read labels, not only the ones on your food, but what you put on your
skin and hair also.

To the list owner, my sincere apologies. Usually it is reps from companies
that own these types of lists. I was just trying to answer the questions on
the original e-mail. I have learned many things on this list and would
never wish to upset you.

**FROM LIST OWNER**
Don’t worry about it I understand about being leary of groups like these. No
harm done :) **

Blessings,
Ro
