Estee Lauder Safety Level
Folks, don’t let the misrepresentation in the previous email terrify you.
If these products were causing ANY kind of damage, they’d be off the
shelves. But, nothing’s showing abnormal and they’ve been out for YEARS, so
use them to your heart’s content. When you read any post on this forum,
realize that people speak for or against products for many reasons,
including ignorance, financial gain, or revenge. I speak out to try and
help– not scare.
After receiving the previous post, I researched further… I’ve found that
the reason the score is so high is that some of the ingredients that the
company uses have not been assessed for reactions (I researched this on the
website that you provided). If Estee Lauder doesn’t have info, neither do
the other companies that use these ingredients. Also, included in the
score, is the rating of whether or not a particular ingredient does what it
says it does. I don’t know about all of you, but I think almost ANY
over-the-counter medications would score badly! Obviously, we are ALL
struggling with acne. If any of these companies’ products did what they
claimed, then we’d not be on this forum.
What I really can’t get over is that the last poster brought up the score of
a well-known makeup brand that’s been around for decades without any
evidence of harming people, and didn’t bring up prescription medicine! Let
me be clear: there IS evidence that prescription medicine is harming people!
I’m on Minocin because I don’t want to have bad acne. I wish I didn’t have
to take it because I worry about my health, but for someone to scare people
with a ridiculous rating from a ridiculous company that obviously has its
own agenda is sickening to me. (It upsets me whether or not the messenger
is aware that this is what he/she is doing.)
I’d like to finish by saying that I always try to go the minimalistic way.
Other than antibiotics, I only use Lachydrin as a moisturizer, castor oil
when I’m steaming my face and Cetaphil to clean. The only makeup I use is
Bare Minerals. I have used many designer products for many years and the
only reason I stopped using any of them was to simplify my life, not because
I was scared for any reason. Many people have good luck with all different
kinds of products, so experiment…
The Estee Lauder brand scored 4.1 our of a 5 (5 is the highest score).
Makes you realize that just because it is a designer brand and is
expensive does not mean it is the best!
