new members/Cetaphil

Welcome to the group! There sure are a lot of opinions here and
lots of options that have helped. One thing to be very careful with
is the ingredients in any skin care product. I found Cetaphil there
as someone had recommended.

I’ve pasted in what the Environmental Working Group had to say about
it down below. The website is www.ewg.org and click on the personal
care safety link about halfway down the page. You can check many
brands (about 14,000 listings) for safety level, ingredients, etc.

Basically what we have is a vicious cycle. You put some artificial
or downright dangerous ingredients on your face, your face clears up
for a while but the toxins build up, clogging up the liver which in
turn will produce more pimples.

You need to get this from the inside! Do some body cleanses like
liver or colon and eat a diet that won’t irritate your body and
skin. Dairy will prevent nutrients from being absorbed because it
coats the duodenum with mucous (unless it’s raw). Avoid dairy!

Take a good probiotic to clean up your bowels and get your body
functioning again. I recommend either raw food (well chewed or
taken with digestive enzymes) or a macrobiotic diet.

Meat will sit in your digestive tract for up to 72 hours. Imagine
if you left a piece of meat on your counter in the middle of summer
and then you can imagine what’s happening in your bowels. Yuck!
This will effect your skin. This is not to say that you can never
eat meat again but during a cleanse you won’t.

Clay masks are very good for drawing out impurities and recently
I’ve found out about clay baths. I may order some to see if they’re
as good as they claim with detoxing the body.

FIR saunas can help to detoxify and clear up skin but there’s a very
good chance like with all detoxification that the skin may get
slightly worse first as old impurities come out.

Tissue salts (available in the health food store) are good for
balancing out the minerals in your body. There’s an acne formula or
if you can’t find it, email me and I’ll give you the ingredients and
you can just mix up your own. This is also cheap!

I’m in the middle of moving but next month I’m planning to add some
pages to my website about acne. That was a quick overview! If you’d
like to subscribe to my Save Your Skin ezine (also available next
month) and will be about organic topics and skin care just email me
and I’ll send you an invite once I’m ready.

Hope this will help you!
