Retin-A

Monday, December 18th, 2006

missshannon23:
When my doctor recommended Retin-A, she advised me to start using it
every two days, then every other day, and then every day, so that
the skin has time to get used to it because it really is strong.
Once I was using it every day, my skin was burning, so I went back
to the every-other-day routine. Like I mentioned a couple of days
ago, I only started last month, so it is early for me to say if it
works or not. My acne is neither better not worse, so I’m still
hopeful:)
Good luck!

cystic acne treatment and pregnancy

Sunday, December 17th, 2006

Hi. I am new to the group. Much to my dismay, I have been taking
antibiotics for cystic acne for nearly a decade. My husband and I are
thinking of starting a family and I am aware that I will have to cease
my antibiotic treatment before/during pregnancy. Does anyone know of a
successful alternative (herbs, nutrition, etc.) for combatting cystic
acne that would be safe to use during pregnancy? I welcome your
suggestions.

Proactive?

Sunday, December 17th, 2006

Hi, I have a question. Has anyone here tried the well-known product,
Proactive? Does it really work as fast and as well as they say? I’m
thinking of getting it because NOTHING works to cure my acne. I’ve
tried all sorts of products and I’m getting really depressed because
of this problem that won’t go away.
I’d appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Retin-A

Your doctor should have warned you that it makes it worst before it
makes it better. I have used retin-a, and it is the only product
that completely cleared my skin. It didn’t burn me, but it made my
skin very dry in the beginning. It was a long battle, but after 6-7
months of using it my skin was completely clear. Everyone’s skin is
different, but I think you should ask your doctor to give you the
lower dose before you stop using it. I hope this helps you. I’ve
tried many products so feel free to ask me any questions.

Hello Yesua and martaluz,
I went through two rounds of Accutane (isotretinoin)treatment 15-20
years ago. The acne did come back. So, don’t get your hopes up too
high.
My best to you.

hi
Im mexican. sorry if thee are some mistakes
well.. Try isotretinoin capsules, they are better than retin a , they are a
bit expensive and the treatment can take like ten months, but!!!! you will never
ever have acne again. I tried them for only 5 months, my parents refused to buy
me mroe, because I had some problems with them (not related to my pills). but
they cured me a lot, my face is better.
I bought at a demratologic drugstroe a vichy pen that hides like a make up
inpefections and also helps healing them
check la roche possay and vichy products, they are really great!

I had some acne on my arms and I tried retin a and it got worse….and I
stopped trying
let me know how you are :)
