Does sugar cause acne??? (age-old question)
Hi Lisa,
Have you considered ProActive? I started breaking out 2 years ago . The main
cause was probably because of the stressful job I had at the time. Ever since
then, I’ve tried many types of medications from RetinA, to other topical
creams. My recommendation is that RetinA works . However, it does dry out your
skin and you do see an increase in breakouts when you first start. I stopped
using that since my skin was getting failry sensitive. I then switched to
ProActive 2 Months ago. I’ve been using it since and I’m pretty impressed with
the product. I haven’t had any major breakouts and it has helped me control my
acneprone skin.

I asked my doctor about it and he said that acne is caused by diet and
hereditary factors but it’s primarily hormones!
Strange… I thought ance was just a teenage thing, ya know…and here I am, 20
years later, at age 35, still with acne. (sigh*)
My older sister, also suffered acne problems, once pregnant, acne dissappeared!
It was like, her face looked the best ever! And once her son was born, the acne
came back and it’s still there. So I know it is definately hormonal. Geez….do
I have to have to be pregnant to have clear skin? God, I hope not..what if that
never happens, ya know?
I have come to the point in my life where I feel like I have tried soooooo many
products and wasted thousands of dollars, I just feel like giving up on trying
to cover up my acne. But I have become so freakin’ paranoid that I have to have
makeup on my face whenever I leave the house. It’s simpy not fair.
