For Effective Acne Treatment, Eat these Fruits
Fruits are an "ok" food for those with acne. Most fruits have a
relatively low glycemic index, meaning that they don’t raise your
blood sugar that much, particularly compared to cereal, bread, rice,
and other "white" foods.
The reason you don’t want to raise your glycemic load is because this
results in increased circulating insulin. Increased insulin causes
testosterone surges, which result in greater oil production in your
skin.
You do NOT want to be going on a juice fast, and you want to be
avoiding juice in general. That is because juice is absorbed very
rapidly, causing a rapid increase in blood sugar and thus insulin
concentration.
Also, you can certainly go overboard with fruit. Eating 10 bananas
would definitely cause an insulin surge.
Finally, constipation is not the cause of acne. Eating the wrong
food is the cause of constipation, and of acne.
