Tried EVERYTHING out there
Hi,
There are four "proximate" causes of acne, known by all dermatologists:
1. Excess sebum (oil) production
2. skin pores that don’t open properly
3. bacterial infection
4. inflammation
The products you mention try to treat acne by removing the oil, and
causing the skin to peel, which will hopefully open the pores. The
challenge is that if the desmosomes that attach the skin cells to each
other are not properly dissolving as the skin cells reach the surface,
then peeling extra layers will not open the pores, and not allow the
cleansers to even get to all the excess oil being produced.
There is a more direct way to treat acne at its root cause. Skin cell
desquamation (the process of the individual cells flaking off) is
affected by excess insulin levels, and by the activity of certain
enzymes that act to dissolve the desmosomes. By eating a low glycemic
diet and avoiding lectins found in wheat and other common foods, most
people can eliminate their acne within 30 days. I suggest doing a
search on pubmed (or even Google) for the scientist who has done much
of the research in this area, Loren Cordain.
Good luck,
