need advice about cyst type pimple

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Need some suggestions. Hi there. Well, I made the mistake of trying to
squeeze what I thought was a blackhead. Anyway, it has now changed to
almost a blood blister. It is very sensative to the touch and has
gotten bigger then before. It appears that blood is right below the
surface of the skin. What can I do??

Thanks, helsando

Frustrated and struggling!

Monday, April 30th, 2007

For months now I’ve struggled with acne and I’m so tired of it. I know
stress has a lot to do with it (because since I started college it has
gotten worse). But I’ve been told I may have a hormonal imbalance.
Nothing I’ve tried has worked. I tried Nature’s Cure Papaya cleaner,
but that did nothing. Currently, I’m trying Noxema. It leaves my skin
feel refreshed, but it really hasn’t done a whole lot. I’m thinking of
ordering ProActive soon to give it a try. But I’ve heard it doesn’t
really work like they say. I really want to go the Natural route, but
the natural things I have tried never seem to work. I don’t know what
to do! I also have a little bit of scarring and would like to know how
to get rid of that? I’m just so tired of this constant struggle with
acne. I’m 18 years old and I shouldn’t be having to deal with this
anymore. My skin is naturally oil so that might have something to do
with it. Any help is greatly appreciated! I just want clear, even skin.
Nothing radiant or glamorous…just normal skin that doesn’t break out

My daughter’s acne is almost gone. One site that has really good acne tips and
info is www.skincarereviews.net

They have great articles and it’s free!!

I’m concerned with anyone using a single modality approach to acne. There are so
many factors contributing to acne. First of all, toxic chemicals should never be
used. Our skin is our largest organ and we absorb the toxic chemicals. In
addition, toxic chemicals are irritants. (this is a whole other topic!)

It is important to approach Acne from the inside out as well as the outside in.

while nourishing the skin fromt he outside with vitamins that are protected from
air and penetrate the epidermis to the dermis.

Lastly, there are many individual triggers too which need to be addressed. For
some, it is sunshine, for some it is chocolate/caffiene, and for others it can
me a mirad of things.

There are a couple things you could try.

1) Use a good amount of benzoly perxoide. You can find it in any drug
store… just don’t get about 2.5% or it will dry you out and then it could end
up looking worse being dry and flaking. Use it twice a day. Actually go to
acne.org and follow his instructions… it should give you a better
understanding. Since you may have never done this before you may get dry, my
suggestion is, just before you do your makeup for the party…. use a gentle
manual exfoliator and gently scrub the area to get rid of the flaking and then
use a good moisturizer.

or

2) you could try hot compresses several times a day until the inflamation goes
down. It is a bit time consuming but has worked for me several times.

Minocycline

can cause some vestibuloacoustic side effects, such as
dizziness, which you are reporting. I would call your derm and let he
or she know that this is what you are experiencing… There are
different antibiotics that they can prescribe.
