Acne Tips

More severe cases of acne tend to be characterized not just by the
presence of pimples and blemishes, but also by the formation of
nodules or cysts. Acne that involves the development of cysts is
called cystic acne.

A cystic acne lesion is much larger than a regular pimple, sometimes
5mm or more in diameter. These lesions can be hard and painful.
Cystic acne lesions are filled with pus but should not be squeezed.
Squeezing a cystic lesion can lead to a worse infection and
inflammation. The lesions are prone to scarring and should be taken
care of by a dermatologist, who often uses procedures to reduce
swelling and to lessen the likelihood of scar formation.

In severe cases of cystic acne, it may be a good idea to consult a

About a cup of water with 1 tablespoon I think is enough to dilute
it… A lot of water will not do much good… I also put some in a
dark bottle with a spritzer and chill it in the refrigerator…

Another natural and inexpensive way I use now is oat flour as scrub…
or you can make some of your own by putting a handful of uncooked
rolled oats in a food processor… it smells so nice it really helps
slough off the dead skin or the parts that’s already healing…

For moisturizer, I use pure olive squalane… I read from the acne
tips blog that borage oil is also beneficial, and also lavender… I’m
thinking of buying some to put a bit on my olive squalane… Any more
tips on essential oils/plant oils that would work wonderful for
acne-prone skin?

Apple Cider Vinegar is a good skin cleaning agent. It strips excess oil
and, if used as a "scrub" can open skin pores and if skin pores are open
can assist in killing bacteria.

I used to use bragg’s too, but for drinking. Still do, but now i just
go with any brand. Found it effective to relieve of the feeling of
bloatiness, sort of cleaning out the system. Plus, my skin is smooth &
glowing now.

Hi! Just want to share how effective apple cider vinegar in managing
and healing existing acne. My sister & i went to the grocery yesterday
and found Bragg’s Raw Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar. One tablespoon
in clean distilled water, wet a cottonball with the solution and
apply like toner.
i’ve been on accutane before but the effect didn’t last very long and
the side effects were horrible.

The only thing you’d complain about this is the smell. but it’s a
small price to pay if you want to have clear skin. please try this,
