RING WORM
>
ring worm is caused by a fungus. over the counter antifungal
ointments and creams will not get rid of it. it will go away but
come right back after you have stopped applying them. you need
prescription oral antifungals to really get rid of it. where is the
ring worm on your body? you might have to cut your hair if you have
it on your scalp. you have to keep the area around the ring worm
clean and dry. fungi love moisture. you need to wash all your
clothing and beddings in hot water too. it is contagious so if its
your kids you might have to keep them away from school .it’s common
among children. my sons 6 and 9 had it and i tried all the over
counter creams that i could . it always came back. finally they were
put on oral antifungal treatment for six weeks. i got rid of their
beddings and washed their clothes in hot water. i also went to their
school and complained about the many kids that were allowed to go to
school with the ring worm. i was afraid my kids would get re
infected. the school did their part and my kids have been ring worm
free ever since. you can get ring worm anywhere on your body. its
wise to see a doctor for proper treatment. alot of healthy adults
have an immune sytem that will keep it away it’s more common in
adults with a compromised immune system. i’d say don’t waste money on
the over the counter ointments and creams .one thing though,
antifungals are generally quite expensive. good luck and please go
see a doctor.
